Boating, fishing & water safety

Before launching

Confirm ramp access, lake elevation, water hazards and weather. Dam operations can alter currents and conditions.

Fishing across the lakes

Common regional targets include bass, catfish and sunfish. Check Texas Parks & Wildlife regulations, licensing and lake-specific rules.

Rainfall & flooding

Heavy rainfall upstream can change conditions quickly. Never enter floodwater, and do not treat a forecast as an all-clear.

Water-level charts should be enabled only after validating a supported USGS or other machine-readable gauge endpoint and displaying its last-observed timestamp.
