Meet Mark Meyers

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mark Meyers developed a fascination with weather, especially severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, when he was a kid.

In 1982, he bought a Bearcat 20/20 scanner to monitor severe storms, listen to radio communications, and follow races. The ability to hear events unfold in real time made weather even more compelling.

Mark once dreamed of becoming a meteorologist and television weatherman. His education and career ultimately took a different path through education, technology, and broadcasting—but his love of weather never went away.

Today, as founder and executive producer of Texas News Studio, he still enjoys following developing weather across Texas and occasionally providing live weather updates and nowcasting on the Texas News Studio livestream.

Now based in the Texas Hill Country, Mark particularly enjoys keeping up with the changing conditions around the Highland Lakes—from sudden thunderstorms and heavy rain to the beautiful weather that makes lake life special.
